About Human Design

ID #1002

I started to explore Human Design recently and frequently come across all these seemingly important terms like Profile, Authority, Strategy, etc. How come they are barely ever mentioned in your materials and vocabulary?

For several years of teaching through the technique of memorizing names, keynotes, labels and phrases, it became obvious that there was a major flaw in a training program that taught students to simply repeat someone else’s interpretation and knowledge. When the strategies were introduced, it was at the end of my tenure as Ra’s agent. By now, Strategy is a widespread Human Design concept that frequently arises as a question when people get their free charts or are introduced to their charts by an adherent to that particular interpretative bias. Strategy is an action-plan aimed at offsetting one’s “Theme.” The theme is the “problem” each of us is born suffering, according to type, for which one can adopt a “strategy” to deal with..

The I Ching is also called The Book of Changes. Being able to change, evolve, transform our experience through embracing the highest aspect in any given challenge is the potential of consciousness guiding the life, which is what the study of the I Ching, Kabbalah, and to a less defined degree, astrology and chakras teach (the four elements of Human Design).

Remember that when you look at the body graph, you see the mechanics of the vehicle, that is, the Body-Mind, in Human Design language, the Design and Personality, which does not show the soul’s attributes at all.  At the heart of each of the four elements of Human Design, we are given the means by which to connect to the God or higher consciousness field in order to live in harmony with others, to tune into what we love, gives us joy and appreciation, respect for others and gratitude for what we’ve been blessed in our life to receive.

For Zen Human Design promotes the optimal use of Human Design as a tool of consciousness, to aid in living in greater harmony and balance with others. To be able to recognize when you or anyone reacts to conditioning allows for a more intelligent experiment to not cause harm to oneself or others. The map of the body graph is a great tool for becoming aware, and fully responsible for our actions, reactions and non-action. But this begins by sincerely caring how you impact someone else.

Understanding our natures and the impact we have on others allows us to take responsibility for our part in the totality. In this way, everything becomes a lesson in acceptance. You don't need a strategy; just a sense of right and wrong, fairness and compassion.
